JOB OPENING

Church Secretary

Duties shall include but not limited to serving as the receptionist in the church office, answering the phone, typing correspondence and bulletins and any tasks requested by the Pastor. This position is one of a highly confidential nature and requires someone with suitable people skills.

 

This position is 3 hours per week, preferable Thursdays from 9:00am to noon during Church office hours.

Specific Duties:

Opening and distributing mail as well as responding to inquires received via mail.

Handling phone inquires, including responding to messages left on the answering machine

Answering the phone during Church office hours

Coordinates office volunteers, typing of bulletins for weekly worship services as directed by the Pastor and listing all of the weekly events

Assisting the Editor of THE CLOCK (church newsletter)

Ordering the necessary office supplies with the Pastor’s approval

Maintaining and updating all church records including the office files, mailing lists and labels.

Updating the Rolodex cards and the Pastor’s files

Maintain worship stats and Membership data

Skills Required:

This position requires the working knowledge or ability to learn the use of various office equipment and applications including but not limited to:

Copier

Typewriter

Computer and printer

Folding machine

Telephone answering machine.

A highly desirable candidate for this position will have working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word and Access.

Salary:

This is an hourly position. Salary compensated based on experience.
