Food Shelf/Crop Walk

The Oxford Ecumenical Council in cooperation with the Worcester County Food Bank administers the Oxford Food Shelf, postal carriers conduct local food drives in May and the annual CROP WALK provides a fun-filled way to raise funds to buy additional needed items.  Non-perishable food items are collected at local churches for distribution on Thursday evenings from 6 P.M. to 7:15 P.M.  The Food Shelf has moved to a building behind the Oxford Community Center, after about twenty years being housed at the Methodist Church.

The Food Shelf needs donations of canned fruits and vegetables, canned pastas (such as Spaghettios, Ravioli, etc.) Jell-O, jellies and jams, canned meats (such as Beef Stew – PLEASE, NO TUNA) and coffee.  We have been serving more families than ever and have low supplies.  Please consider the items listed when doing your weekly grocery shopping and look for sales.  If you have any questions, please contact OUMC Ecumenical Council Representatives Sam Carey at 987-2759 or Brenda Gabel at 949-1748.
